![]() Mimio does not care what hardware you run on their software. The Mimio teach is easy to setup and can be taken from classroom to classroom. I guess they realized customers figured out Wacom was making the airliners for smart and you could by the same hardware much cheaper without the smart logo on it. Smart also came out with a disclaimer that you cannot use another product on their software. They also have a big community to share lesson plans and you don't have to build up points (x amount of products purchased gives you x amount of points) to use some of them like you do with smart. We have not had a pen go bad yet with Mimio but I spoke with another school district and they said the support is excellent and hassle free. The software from Mimio is just as good as smart and getting better all the time. If you have a problem with a pen from Mimio they say no problem pen is on the way. Some times that works but most of the time it does not so you just wasted a day troubleshooting it. Mimio is also less expensive. If you have a problem with the pen on the smart airliner tech support wants you to take the pen apart and let it sit overnight. For instance warranty on the Airliner 2yrs, warranty on the Mimio pad 5yrs including battery. Although the software from Smart is good, their support leaves a lot to be desired. We have used a few smart boards along with many smart slates (airliners). I would take a serious look at the Mimio product line.
